Non-Profits that Welcome People with Disabilities

As a leader of a  non-profit organization, you  want to provide services to all people who are in need of and are eligible for your services. Melissa Marshall can help your organization ensure that it provides services to people with disabilities in ways that are inclusive, legally compliant and culturally competent by:

  • Providing disability awareness and etiquette training to staff, so that employees and customers with disabilities will always feel welcome
  • Providing training  on your organization’s obligations to employees and customers with disabilities under the Americans with disabilities Act/Americans with Disabilities Amendment Act
  • Conducting an access survey of your facility that includes barrier removal suggestions
  • Assisting you to develop and negotiate a strategy with your organization’s landlord for barrier removal

Melissa frequently collaborates with other groups to foster inclusion and equality. She co-trains with LGBT organizations and is a Consortium member of Add Us In, a program at The WorkPlace that focuses on employment of people with disabilities, including LGBT people with disabilities. She has provided disability awareness and legal training to LGBT and other progressive organizations for decades.
