Events that Welcome People with Disabilities

Melissa produces events that are accessible, inclusive and well attended. The events generate great feedback from participants and presenters. Melissa specializes in getting high turnout at what are typically low-turnout events.

She creates events and conferences targeting people with disabilities, including:

  • The Connecticut Business Leadership Network’s (CTBLN) Employment Conference and Career Fair  2009, 2010, 2011
  • The WorkPlace/Diversity Work’s Career Fair/Employment Workshops
  • The Developmental Disabilities Network Candidates Forum on Disability Issues. Twelve  of 14 Congressional, Senatorial and Presidential candidates or their surrogates participated. Over 150 constituents with disabilities and their family members attended. 
  • Moving Up and Out Together Connecticut’s First Women and Disability Conference
  • Disability Mentoring Days for CTBLN, where over 100 job seekers and students with disabilities were matched with employers

She provides technical assistance for organizers of non-disability related  events, ensuring that they are welcoming to people with disabilities makes non-disability related events. These events may include:
  • Conferences, forums and seminars
  • Political events and campaigns
  • Public meetings and gatherings 


Melissa delivers Keynote Addresses on disability issues to diverse audiences, including the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Army.
